The West Bohemian metropolis Plzen is the second biggest city of the Czech Republic. It is located at the intersection of four rivers and ancient international trade routes and is an important commercial, cultural and administrative center, which put it´s name on the map with the products of its brewery and the machine building company Skoda. Since the middle of the 19th century, Plzen is the stronghold of beer, which made the city such famous. Whether in the historic underworld - a labyrinth with more than 20 kilometres - in the brewery museum or in the Urquell brewery, all sites are perfectly suited for learning everything about beer, its history and production. The Bohemian Forest approximates up to the southern border of Plzen and is a paradise for nature lovers and hiking freaks.
